On 30 October, Alicja Laskowska from Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center presented the validation approach used in MARKOS at eChallenges 2014 conference. (Thursday 30th, Session 8b).
eChallenges conference provides an international forum to foster ICT related entrepreneurship and innnovation, share experiences, increase awareness of innovative applied ICT applications and research results, and identify opportunities for research collaboration under Horizon 2020, the new EU Framework Research and Innovation Programme that runs from 2014 – 2020.
The validation approach defined and used in MARKOS adopts agile paradigms “release early, release often”, not only to development, but also to validation: “validate early, validate often”. We hope the presented results and lessons learned summarized in a paper “Best Practices for Validating Research Software Prototypes – MARKOS Case Study “ will encourage other European project to adopt similar approach to improve the quality of projects results on one hand and to be in line with potential users on the other.
